GUM and GINGER syrup recipes


Gum and ginger syrup recipes for you to make at home. Volume 2 of homemade cocktail syrups in the new segment of Cocktail Time with Kevin Kos called Cocktail Construction.


Gum (or Gomme) syrup (66% sugar syrup):

• 45 g Gum Arabic

• 50 g water (for gum arabic)

• 360 g sugar (I used cane sugar)

• 130 g water (for sugar)


Mix Gum Arabic with 50 g of hot water. Stir and let it sit for up to 24 hours. In a blender add sugar and 130 g of boiling hot water. Blend to dissolve sugar in water. Add gum arabic solution and stir with a spoon.


Ginger Syrup Recipe (50% sugar syrup) :

• 40 ml (1.33 oz) ginger juice

• 80 g water

• 120 g sugar


Juice the ginger to get a ginger juice. Mix sugar with boiling hot water. When all sugar dissolves add 40 ml (1.33oz) ginger juice and stir.
