Beer foam can be such a nice addition to an Old Fashioned. Here I used Irish whiskey and Irish stout. It's a match made in heaven and it tastes heavenly! And if you're craving another beer cocktail that Kevin made in this episode, check out the Special Beer Americano here.
Stout Fashioned
· 50 ml (1⅔ oz) Jameson Caskmates Stout Edition
· 1 bar spoon rich demerara simple syrup
· 2 dashes Angostura bitters
· 2 dashes orange bitters
· Top up with Guinness Draught foam
Pour a small amount of Guinness into a tall glass and whisk until thick. To make the cocktail, add syrup and bitters to a mixing glass, pour in the whiskey, add ice and stir to chill. Strain into a rocks glass over one large ice cube, then gently spoon the Guinness foam on top. Express an orange peel over the drink and place it on top.
The result is a deliciously creamy, rich version of an Irish Old Fashioned, with citrus, coffee, and chocolate notes that perfectly complement each other.

Hi Kevin, love this recipe. Would you say the trace alcohol left in the stout syrup would help to preserve it? If not, what would the shelf life look like for the syrup.
Thanks!
